I love the school. The teacher is very patient with the student. They have a good relationship.
I’m absolutely thrilled with the progress my son has made under Lenche Nasev at MMA.Lenche is an amazing and passionate teacher, my son loves his piano lessons.
We love Monrovia Music Academy! I wanted to take lessons for the first time. My son also decided to take lessons with me and eventually my daughter also joined. We all decided to be a part of a piano recital- which was such a great experience to be able to play in front of people. Our teachers, Mr Chris, Ms Kathleen and Ms Ella are so supportive. I highly recommend!
It is a perfect place for your children to learn music from the basics. The teachers are very patient and are always willing to answer any questions you may have.
My two kids (7 and 11) are both so happy with their piano lessons at Monrovia Music Academy. The teachers that we have Kathleen and Chris are both great! My favorite things about it are that the front desk is so kind and helpful and scheduling is honestly the best experience I've ever ever had with lessons anywhere!...also I love how the teachers often send an email reporting on what they worked on with my kids in the lesson and what their music homework is. And also I love the convenient location right across the street from the park!
Our daughter is taking vocal and piano lessons with Josue, and is loving it. I love that there is an optional recital. The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is that despite paying for lessons (not the cheapest), we have to pay to see our own kid in the recital, seems silly. Otherwise a great experience.
My kids love Monrovia Music Academy. They have built a great connection with their teachers and the rest of the staff is extremely helpful and professional. I appreciate their open door policy and their genuine passion for not only music but for teaching.
My 2 children have been to piano lessons and they love them. Teacher Megan is very kind, patient and dedicated to getting them to learn and become passionate about playing the piano. The location is great and all classrooms are noise controlled. They have a waiting room where kids can draw and paint and it's right across the park from the Monrovia Library. In my case with two boys all this is great.
Frequently Asked Questions About Monrovia Guitar Lessons
What age can my child start guitar lessons?
We accept students as young as five years old. We use special techniques and equipment for young students to make playing comfortable, as pressing guitar strings can be challenging for small fingers.
Should I start with an acoustic or electric guitar?
We recommend starting with whichever type of guitar interests you or your child the most. The basics are the same for both, and following your interest helps maintain motivation and enjoyment throughout your lessons.
How long will it take to play my first song?
Students play their first song during their very first lesson. We use simplified versions and appropriate techniques to ensure immediate success while building toward more complex skills.
Do I need to have a guitar to start lessons?
No, we have guitars of all sizes and types available at our facility for lessons. While we don’t rent instruments, our teachers can recommend appropriate guitars for rent or purchase when you’re ready to practice at home.
What styles of music will I learn?
You’ll learn to play your favorite songs! We believe in teaching the music that interests our students with guitar lessons in Monrovia, as this creates better engagement and more enjoyment in the learning process.
